The purpose of a pressure washer is to provide water at a higher rate of movement.

Affixing a nozzle to the wand tip has a similar effect as putting a thumb over part of your garden hose the same flow of water now offers more cleaning power. A combination of the Gallons per minute and Pressure capability of your pressure washer is used to select tips for different cleaning tasks, Concrete and most Hardscapes can withstand 4000 psi easily, where wood deck and siding should be cleaned at 800psi or less

Home users will generally use power washers running from 1,500 to 2,700 PSI flowing 1.7 to 2.5 gallons per minute.

Professional power washes and commercial users will use pressure between 3,000 and 4,000 PSI and water flow from 4gpm to 12 gallons per minute.

Consult the Tip Size Chart to understand what pressure and flow rate a given tip size would provide from your pressure washer.

For a 4gpm at 4000psi Pressure washer the Yellow Circles indicate the flow and pressure of a given tip for full pressure select Tip 4, and for 1000 psi, select an 8 tip, select the right tip for your cleaning need.

For an 8 Gpm and 3500 psi Pressure Washer review the Purple Circles and select an 8.5 Tip is indicated for Full Pressure, and for 1200 psi select a 15 size tip
